The Dunckerclub located in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg and is more than 30 years one of the oldest places of the city. Here you will encounter authentic feel and a good mix of old-timers and new Berliners. Our services range from weekly concerts of international bands via live dj-acts, dance music parties to author readings, Gothic flea market and much more.
Musically, we are above all in the Independent and Alternative Rock-area home. An exception to our Dark Monday (darkwave, EBM, Gothic, Deathrock ..) He is also known since 1993 an integral part of the scene and beyond the city limits.
In summer you can get some fresh air in the beautiful beer garden, in the winter there is our heated smoking tent. Inside there is plenty of space for up to 200 guests, which we serve all drinks at the large bar or in the small cocktail bar for fair prices, the heart desires.
Today Dunckerclub 1913-14 was built to a design by Ludwig Hoffmann. The beautiful red brick building has shamrocks and triple window with figural terracottas by sculptor Ignatius Taschner. The entire architectural ensemble is a listed building. The building functioned among others as stables, salt warehouse and gym of the adjacent school.
From 1983 to 1989, here was a youth club of the GDR. He was then one of the few Berlin Establishment who dared punk concerts even outside the prescribed GDR culture. Since 1989 the building the Association of Friends of Youth serves eV as Dunckerclub as a home for dance events and concerts.
